This is Why We Burn Out

Letters, rants, and records of professional burnout, collected and unfiltered.

This Is Why We Burn Out is a space to collect stories, frustrations, and ideas — the things that felt heavy, infuriating, or unspeakable in the moment.

It was built with curiosity more than certainty, as a way to ask: what changes if we can see it all in one place?

Submissions will be grouped loosely by theme — licensing, grad school, supervision, access, equity, ethics, and whatever else emerges.

No polish required. No perfect structure needed. Submissions can be anonymous, and edits are made only for clarity or privacy.

Purpose

To document.
To connect.
To imagine something better.

Notes on Responses

Right now, there’s no way to directly reply to letters — this is intentional.

If you want to respond, submit your own letter and reference the one you’re replying to. I’ll group them together. This is a conversation, just in slow motion.

What to Share

Letters, stories, moments, frustrations, or ideas for change.
Raw is fine. Anonymous is fine.

Note: A glitch in the form cut off longer submissions last week. This is fixed now — your full letters will come through.
Submissions may be published anonymously and edited for clarity. We won't share your name or email.

This project is still taking shape. If you’d like to know when new stories are shared — or see the themes that are beginning to emerge — you can sign up for occasional updates here.

No tracking, no spam. Just the letters and the patterns that emerge.
